The Wii baby gamer (with special thanks to Wendy’s)
Check out this giant 4-month-old baby using a WiiMote like a phone. See, the Wii’s motion sensitive controller is so simple, even a baby can use it.
OK, so it’s not a real baby ... just kidding. It’s not a real WiiMote. What my li’l guy is holding is one of the toys from Wendy’s latest kids’ meals. (No, I didn’t feed him a hamburger or let him hold that non-infant size toy for more than a few, parentally controlled seconds).
There are five toys available in the series (six if you include the non-Nintendo infant toy):
Magnetic mini WiiMote and Mario on a turtle shell. When North meets South, Mario spins in a circle. Hours of entertainment.
Wii Sports baseball game. It’s an old-fashioned marble style game with mini plastic balls in an enclosed baseball diamond. Press the red button and a WiiMote bat smack the balls into spaces marked Triple, Out, Home Run or Double. Makes for a noisy travel game.
Excite Truck truck. A little red rolling truck from the game. (Not spring-loaded).
WiiMote Disk Shooter. This one looks almost exactly like a WiiMote, but is slightly shorter and wider. Flick the control pad down and POG style cardboard disks fly out.
Two-Sided Puzzle. The packaging is the Wii console in the angled stand. The puzzles form a WarioWare scene one one side and Excite Truck on the other.
One toy is currently available in each Wendy’s Kid’s Meal (as supplies last, of course). If you are nice, you might be able to purchase the toys separately. I already have one complete set for my personal collection. I think I might go get another set for long-term storage for the li’l guy’s college fund… or something to chew on when he’s 80.
Oh, and since all the toys are intended for children 3 or older, don’t let anyone under 3 play with any of the toys unsupersized, I mean, unsupervised.

on June 14, 2007 at 02:10 AM - LINKHi P.J, You don’t know me however I am a cousin on your mother’s side. I was just googling the Zapor History and came across Lester’s name. Putting two and two together I saw your mom’s name along with Lester’s girls. My grandmother was your mothers and Lester’s aunt. They called her Choch. Her name was Mary E. Zapor O’Brien. Could you please forward this to Lester. I would love to catch up with him. He would come to visit her when she lived with us in Parkersburg. The kids were just young. How time flies.
The baby is so cute. If memory serves me correctly he looks alot like you.
Thanks,
Abbe Rollins
