The Joos Orange brings solar charging to electronic devices

by Jeremy Hill on Mar 12, 2010 at 10:18 AM

Joos Orange We gamers know what it’s like to be without electrical outlets. When the battery of our PSP, DS or iPhone starts to dwindle, we have to decide whether to save the battery for more desperate times or seize the moment and play until the screen goes dark. As we edge closer to Spring and warmer weather, it becomes more probable to use our devices outside without fear of battery loss. The Joos Orange just may be the solar product that will ease our minds.

The Joos Orange is a new solar charger produced by Solar Components. The Joos Orange claims to produce up to 20 times more power than any other solar charger currently available. It can fully charge 4 iPhones (or other smartphones), 6 regular cell phones or 3 portable game devices at once. It can also charge other devices such as GPS units, cameras or mp3 players as well. The Joos Orange will support computer software that will tell you how much power is being generated. Solar Components states 1 hour of solar power from the Joos Orange converts to over 2 hours of talk time on a cell phone.

The Joos Orange is also waterproof, shockproof and water resistant. It can be completely submerged in water and still draw a charge from the sun.

The Joos Orange will be available in June 2010 for $99.95.
