Ten Capcom Classic games are coming to the PlayStation Network

Dino Crisis

In an opinion I share with many of my peers, the PlayStation network is in dire need of more awesome classic games - especially the more recent classics. Well, Capcom has heeded that call by announcing that they’ll bring 10 PS1 and PSP games to Sony’s downloadable service, most notably Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

Here’s the list, as posted on Capcom’s Blog:

-  Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded (UMD Legacy)
-  Mega Man Powered Up (UMD Legacy)
-  Dino Crisis (PlayStation Legacy)
-  Powerstone Collection (UMD Legacy)
-  Mega Man Maverick Hunter X (UMD Legacy)
-  Resident Evil 2 (PlayStation Legacy)
-  Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower (UMD Legacy)
-  Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max (UMD Legacy)
-  Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (PlayStation Legacy)
-  Capcom Puzzle World (UMD Legacy)

I’m particularly excited about Dino Crisis. Yeah, maybe it’s a little weird and cheesy, but this game was such a blast back in the halcyon days of the late 1990s. It’s like Resident Evil (pure survival horror), but with Dinosaurs! In other words, it’s completely awesome. I’m also stoked that Nemesis made it onto the list - that game gave me about six heart attacks back in the day - in the best way possible, of course. We can expect the games soon - though no official release date has been named. Stay tuned for updates.
