Even though Tecmo’s in somewhat dire straits, and may even become part of the Square Enix family, it still isn’t hesitating when it comes to games. The company has just issued a press release announcing its upcoming titles for the 2008 holiday season. It doesn’t have that many coming out, only four, but hopefully those four DS and Wii titles will do well this season.

The four upcoming games are as follows:

Note: It was IGN’s runner up for Best DS Strategy Game at E3 2008.

Title: Rygar: The Battle of Argus
Genre: Action/Platformer
System: Wii
Rating: Pending
Release Date: December, 2008
Price: Pending
Note: It is a remake of the PS2 game Rygar: The Legendary Adventure. Said PS2 game is $4.99 used at GameStop.

Title: SPRay
Genre: Action/Platformer
System: Wii
Rating: Pending
Release Date: October 28, 2008
Price: $39.99

Title: Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff
Genre: Sports (Football)
System: DS
Rating: Everyone
Release Date: November 11, 2008
Price: $29.99 (Amazon is listing it for $34.99. GameStop has the $29.99 price.)
Note: Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff will have Wi-Fi and local wireless multiplayer modes. It also was IGN’s Best DS Sports Game at E3 2008 and runner-up for 1Up’s Best of E3 2008 - Best DS Game.

It looks like Tecmo wants to stay tight with the DS and Wii, most likely due to Nintendo’s popularity. Considering the range of genres the company’s covering, it will likely do well this holiday season. I’m guessing that Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff will end up being Tecmo’s MVP this season.
