At E3 Tatsunoko vs. Capcom picked up multiple Best Fighting Game awards, including the Game Critics award. The much-awaited game’s coming-out tour continues at Anaheim, CA’s Anime Expo July 2 through 5, 2009.
Attendees will get the first chance to put hyper-powered fists to garishly clad faces by visiting booth Booth 437-439 to deal out a few billion damage points. I’m not kidding, they measure damage in this game in this billions for a real “anime” feel.
Tatsunoko is the studio famous for anime hits including Speed Racer and Battle of the Planets. Capcom characters confirmed here include Ryu and Batsu from cult classic Rival Schools.
This game certainly looks like the spiritual successor to the Marvel vs. Capcom games that fighting game lovers still hold in wild-eyed reverence. It’s also a great get for Nintendo, as this definitely falls under the category of titles for the hardcore gamer.
The Anime Expo 2009 is at the Los Angeles Convention center July 2 through 5, 2009. A one day pass for adults is $35, a two day pass is $55 and a four day pass is $70. A four day pass for a child ages 6 to 12 is $30 and children younger than 5 get in for free.
