Tale of Tales to let gamers walk The Path in March

What could be one of the coolest independent games of 2009 now has a release date - Tales of Tales has confirmed that The Path will be released on the Tales of Tales site, Direct2Drive and Steam on March 18, 2009. So far the price hasn’t been set, but I’m sure it will be revealed when the launch date draws closer.
The Path‘s a horror game based on the tale of Little Red Riding Hood. Six girls, Robin, Rose, Ginger, Ruby, Carmen and Scarlet all must take the journey to grandmother’s house. This isn’t a simple task though - you have to choose which path the girls take, and how they will get to their final destinations. And when I say final destination, I mean final - none of the girls comes back alive. It seems like an interesting, psychological thriller.
Tales of Tales is known for their ethereal and sometimes exotic games. As you may recall, the company is known for The Endless Forest, the free-to-play massive multiplayer online game/screensaver, where every player gets to be a deer and explore the forest. It’s very relaxing.
The company has also released The Graveyard, a game that has players explore a virtual graveyard as an old woman. There’s a free demo and a full, $5 version. In the full version has one different feature - your character may die as she explores the graveyard.
While I’m incredibly excited about The Path, a part of me also hopes that Tale of Tales eventually does finish 8, a game that offers a new take on the Sleeping Beauty myth.

this sounds awesome and creepy at the same time! I know they die, but so they get saved by the heroic woodcutter from the belly of the beast??
and how long do you think the game is? it doesn’t sound like it would be more then a couple hours
on February 20, 2009 at 12:27 AM - LINKI can’t wait to find out. I’ve been excited about The Path ever since I read about it in an issue of Shojo Beat about a year ago. XD
I think it would end up being pretty long and open ended. After all, there are 6 characters, each with their own “wolf”, you can unlock 3 rooms in grandmother’s house for each girl and there are tons of areas hidden in the forest. I’m guessing it’s one you could end up playing over and over, for unknown amounts of time.
