The first Xbox 360-exclusive episode of Grand Theft Auto IV, titled The Lost and the Damned, has been well received by critics and fans since its February 2009 release. Wedbush Morgan Analyst Michael Pachter estimates L&D has sold more than 1 million copies to date and will reach the 2 million mark by the end of October 2009. While we will wait to see if his estimates come true, Take-Two Interactive released its Q1 Earnings Report which details a list of games that will be released by October 31, 2009.

Take-Two Interactive earned $256.8 million dollars in its first fiscal quarter of 2009 though the company lost $50.4 million higher marketing and research and development costs. Take-Two credits most of its profits to Carnival Games, NBA 2K9 , Midnight Club: Los Angeles and the Grand Theft Auto franchise. In fact, GTA IV has shipped 14 million units around the world and the franchise itself accounts for 40% of Take-Two’s first quarter revenue for 2009. Another standout fact in the report shows the second downloadable episode in GTA IV will be out by October 31, 2009.

Rockstar has not confirmed what the second downloadable episode will be about but bunch of other games that are to be released by the end of October 2009 including: BioShock 2 (which doesn’t list any platforms), NBA 2K10, NHL 2K10, Red Dead Redemption and Mafia II, to name a few.
