Summon Night: Twin Age to be released stateside

by Jenni Lada on Mar 18, 2008 at 01:31 PM

What do you mean Summon Night isn't out until May?The latest DS entry in the Summon Night series, Summon Night: Twin Age is going to be translated, localized and released in the US by Atlus. The action rpg, whose popularity in Japan has spawned an animated series and a series of books, is the third entry in the series to be released stateside. Previously Summon Night: Swordcraft Story and Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2 were released on the GBA, however both were released after the GBA’s popularity began to wane, so unfortunately the two captivating games never received much attention. Hopefully Summon Night: Twin Age will find the audience it deserves on the DS. It will be available May 20, 2008 and have an ESRB rating of E10+.

Like previous games in the series, Summon Night: Twin Age involves a main character and her summoned creature companion. Reiha had a talent for summoning since she was a small child, but during an experiment her powers accidentally caused a major incident and many people believed that it had claimed her life. It didn’t, but it did bring a summon creature named Aldo into her life. The two were raised as siblings and lived a peaceful life in Jarazi, until the spirits in their world began acting crazy. So naturally it is up to Reiha and Aldo to save the day.

It seems very similar to previous Summon Night games, aside from the dual screen and touch screen support. You can create items and weapons, improve relationships with other characters, summon, use skills, take on side quests, choose between two different main characters and make choices which lead to multiple endings.

Personally, I’ve only been lucky enough to play Summon Night: Swordcraft Story. I adored it. There were so many options and so much to do. It was really an amazing title, and I was disappointed when I couldn’t find a copy of Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2. So this latest announcement makes me happy, and I vow that I won’t miss out again!
