Star Wars: The Force Unleashed becomes fastest selling Star Wars game

The easy joke here is “the force is strong with this one”, but I’m not going there. GameDaily recently reported on the stellar (interstellar?) sales of the recent multiplatform action title Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, since it’s release less than a week ago. Despite some mixed reviews and the usual Star Wars hype machine, the game has sold over 1.5 million units worldwide across the many platforms it launched on, making it the fastest selling game in franchise history.
I guess everyone left at LucasArts (you know, everyone who wasn’t laid off) can uncork the champagne tonight. Though, on another note, I wonder what the fastest selling SW game prior to The Force Unleashed was. Shadows of the Empire? Rogue Squadron? I have no idea, but if you do, please hit up the comments section!

” Fastest” selling?
Geez I don’t know, I grabbed all the Dark Forces games when they came out (old FPSs with the Expanded Universe “Dark Stormtroopers” that apparently make an appearance in F.Unleased), KoToR was big for me. Republic Commandos was great, but did it sell the fastest? I have no idea.
