Sony, Universal Pictures create media vending machine called PoP
Sony and Universal Pictures will be testing out a new media purchasing service in the form of vending machines. Whenever we want to purchase games, movies or music we’re usually faced with the task of driving off to retail stores and interacting with weird creatures known as humans. As technology gets better the need socialize becomes less and less relevant. What better way is there to feed our entertainment addiction than by distributing it the same way we feed our junk food addiction through vending machines.
The PoP 24-hour entertainment vending machine is a service brought to us by Universal Pictures and Sony that allows us to purchase games, DVD’s, Blu-ray movies and music around the clock. It’s essentially a vending machine that dispenses media instead of candy or soda. The interface is entirely touch-screen enabled and separates products into games, movies and music categories.
We can purchase the physical discs or download the media onto a USB thumb drive or a compatible media device. Some movies give us the option of watching a trailer in case we’re on the fence about purchasing it. It’s not too clear on if the machine will accept cash but it does appear to accept debit or credit cards.
The PoP machines will be available in the UK around Christmas and promises to have about 150 movies at launch.

Yes, certainly it is right to launch such a new technology. As the technology is increasing as well as demanding so need for more comfort is increasing.Since it will provide a better oppurtunity so it will definately be the best option. Moreover if we will not launch it then other will do so as it is the best option to attract more and more customers. And according to me no one will like to lose such a good oppurtunity of a good profit. So it should certainly be launched.
