This week another wave of updates hits the PlayStation Home community bringing new unique unlockable items and even a personal space that can be unlocked playing the new Batman: Arkham Asylum game.

New Spaces and Unlockables

MotorStorm: Pacific Rift

The new MotorStorm: Pacific Rift area has just opened allowing fans a huge space to hang out and participate in launching parties scheduled to be held every Monday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. PST. According to the blogs this space will only be up for a limited time, so take advantage of the space while its on the map.

Exclusive Bat Cave personal space

With Batman: Arkham Asylum coming out next week for the PS3, a new exclusive unlockable item will be made available. Players who purchase the game when its released August 25, 2009 will be awarded with a Batcave Outpost of their very own when they play the game. The space will come with your own life-sized batmobile much like the Ecto-1 for those who purchased the Ghostbusters Firehouse personal space a few months ago. Batman fans would also love the personal museum of all things Batman.

Another exclusive item at the theater

Players who enjoyed the coffin-style sofa from watching Criss Angel’s exclusive clips from his upcoming new show The Five Lives of Criss Angel, can return to the theater for another exclusive furniture item by watching his next clip. The next item is a matchng coffin-style coffee table and another chance to be entered to win one of two real-life coffins used in Criss Angel: Mindfreak and one of three Criss Angel: Burn DVDs and books. Only five winners will be selected and to participate register and log on to Sony Home and visit the theater to watch the video.

Also at the theater, new music videos by Shakira that unlocks free disco glasses or shades for viewers. The movies change often so if you like free stuff or want to know what is in store for the Playstation Home or view trailers of upcoming games, be sure to check the theater often. Players can find the Theater in Central Plaza or by selecting the space from the World Map.

Suggestions for future home spaces needed

Speaking of spaces, players who would like to see more themed spaces for their favorite game are always welcomed to visit the PlayStation Home forums and make suggestions or request items like animated furniture which just released today at the mall and the hamster suit that was released a few month. It never hurts to ask, but it kind of helps if you can find fellow gamers that share the same interest. Let’s see if my Final Fantasy or Silent Hill space opens soon. (Insert giggles here.)
