SNK releases King of Fighters XII patch for Xbox 360 owners

King of Fighters XII PS3
King of Fighters XII is flawed. Anyone who’s spent even five minutes trying to play using the online multiplayer would realize that. Ignition and SNK knew the problem was there, and promised that the companies would take action to make things right for their customers. Back on July 31, 2009, they teamed up to do just that for PS3 owners, promising that one for the Xbox 360 was on its way. Today (October 30, 2009), a little over three months later, an Xbox 360 patch has appeared.

This patch does everything players were asking. It fixes the lag, theTrueSkill points counting issues, character movement problems, issues that popped up when certain characters fought one another and chat restrictions. It even keeps the game running smoothly when a player is taking part in an online match with someone whose connection isn’t as strong or fast. The way it works is the patch actually changes how the game handles the data received and sent during online matches - pretty cool!

The press release notification of the patch also included a three sentence apology from SNK, stating the company’s remorse over the grief it caused KoF XII owners and fans of the series with the rampant issues in the game. It also states that SNK will, in the future, try to work on quality control issues. Hopefully this means this won’t happen again.
