According to a post over at GameLife, the PlayStation 3 Sixaxis will be discontinued in favor of the newer, sexier DualShock 3. Sony reps expect that the current stock of Sixaxes will be sold by the summer, hence ending the reign of Sony’s embarrassing “gamers don’t want rumble” controller misstep.

The DualShock 3 combines motion control with rumble features, and will be sold starting this week for an MSRP of $55. Titles that will support the new peripheral at launch include Devil May Cry 4, Uncharted, Burnout Paradise and Condemned 2.

This one was a total no-brainer. If you have some sort of attachment to the sixaxis, you’d better go out and snatch one up before they go the way of the dodo.
