Rumor: Ghostbusters game to be resurrected by Atari
Once again proving my point that if 50 Cents’ Blood on the Sand can be picked up, then somebody would eventually pick up Ghostbusters. Our fine friends over at Kotaku have posted that Dan Akroyd, or as anyone from the eighties would know him as Raymond Stantz, has stated to a local Dallas radio station that the game has been picked up by Atari.
Alas fair buster fans, if Akroyd, the guy who co-wrote the original flick, says it’s a “go,” then dagnabit, it’s a go. The bad news is that Akroyd also mentioned that the game has been pushed back a year.
The game was originally supposed to ship this month but with that whole Sierra thing going down it seemed as though the game was dead in the water.
So until Ghostbusters has an official release date, I will light a single candle and play Ray Parker Jr. once a day until I have a copy of the game in my hand.
