Rumor: Best Buy reducing select games to $9.99 on April 26, 2009

The gaming section of the internet has been ablaze today with the tale of the alleged $9.99 video game sale at Best Buy starting April 26, 2009. Reports of this incredible discount first began at both Socroendo and CAG (CheapAssGamer), with postings of a partial list of participating games and an ad image. Note that if you attempt to visit Socroendo at the moment, you may have some issues. (I was unable to access the site as of 11:54am CST, April 23, 2009.) The user who posted the information at CAG is supposedly a Best Buy employee.
As you can see from the allegedly legitimate ad scan pictured above, PS3, Xbox 360, DS and Wii games will be part of the sale. The PS3 games Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions, Fracture, Soul Calibur IV, Blitz II and Rock Revolution appear first.
Then, the Xbox 360 games Pure, Infinite Undiscovery, Devil May Cry 4, The Bourne Conspiracy and Red Alert 3 are shown.
The final four sale games pictured are the DS games Ninja Gaiden and Tecmo Bowl and the Wii games Samba de Amigo and Popstar Guitar.

Oh good!! I have been waiting for The Naked Brothers Band w/microphone and Cheetah Girls: Passport to Stardom to go down in price!! (btw that’s sarcasm)

I totally agree - on Sunday I’m going to Best Buy and sifting through. Even if it ends up being all shovelware, I don’t care! It’s just fun to browse.
