gamertell capcom rocketmen it came from uranus I received this email yesterday (May 9, 2008) from Capcom and, well, just read it:

Subject: New Rocketmen: It Came from Uranus Assets!

Hey downloadable game junkies,

We just uploaded new Rocketmen: It Came from Uranus screens and video featuring one of the new levels included in the new expansions pack. It’s more blasting than Uranus can handle.

Cheers,
Xxxxx and the Capcom PR team

Yeah, they really went there. And then, so did I:

Dear Capcom,

Rocketmen: It came from Uranus sounds like an interesting game. I cannot wait to get my hands on Uranus and see your assets.

Will you be using the song “Rocket Man” by Elton John in the game? If not, I highly suggest since it seems it will fit perfectly in Uranus.

- PJ

PS: Uranus is a weird place to come from. Just curious - did “It” come all at once or in small spurts?

For those of you not completely disgusted, you can see those assets below (made you look).

Rocketmen: It came from Uranus is being developed by A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. Games and will be available May 14, 2008, for the PS3 and May 15, 2008, for the Xbox 360.

An add-on to Rocketmen: Axis of Evil, the download will be available for both systems (400 points on Xbox Live and $4.95 on Playstation network) and include new maps, three new levels “Finding Jane,” “Clear the Asteroids” and “The Plan”), five weapons (Blobber, Beaner, Bomber, Falcon and Screw Bomb) and eight enemies. To play the add-on, of course, you should already own Axis of Evil for your system(s). The original game costs 800 points on Xbox Live and $9.99 on the PSN.

Here’s a description of the game from the Sony blog:

Join Nick Sion, Alec Mink and the rest of the Alliance of Free Planets in their white-knuckled, frenzied struggle to free the Solar System from the tyrannical grip of Lord Invictus and the Legion of Terra! With its distinctive cel-shaded art style, engaging storyline, RPG elements and non-stop action, this shooter promises to keep players coming back for more!
