Rockstar’s Red Dead Revolver, a gritty western, is getting a sequel this year. Red Dead Redemption has just been announced, and it’s scheduled to be released in Fall 2009 on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Just don’t expect to see Red Harlow as the star this time around.
Red Dead Redemption‘s title is pretty descriptive, since it’s the story of John Marston, an outlaw who decided to change his ways and go straight. Like many Rockstar Games titles, it sounds like Red Dead Redemption is going to be a very vivid sandbox style action game, where the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine is used to provide a massive world for Marston to explore.
An Red Dead Redemption website is open, but it doesn’t provide much more information. There are seven screenshots to look over, and a link to a mailing list you can subscribe to in order to get the latest updates.
