The PSP-3000 is the latest iteration of Sony’s handheld Playstation Portable (PSP) game console. It follows the PSP-2000 and features a shiny silver body, improved screen with “anti-reflection technology” for improved usage in natural light and a built-in microphone compatible with multiplayer games and Skype.

Sony announced via press release today (October 15, 2008) that the PSP-3000 is now available for purchase from retailers across North America. As an additional incentive for consumers to pick up the new model, a family-friendly bundle that includes Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters has also been made available.

The Ratchet & Clank PSP Entertainment Pack, to give the bundle its full name, also includes Nicolas Cage’s National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets on UMD, a voucher for the Playstation Network puzzle title Echochrome and a 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo. Plus, of course, the “Mystic Silver” PSP-3000 itself.

The full bundle (pictured above) is currently being sold for a manufacturer suggested retail price of $199.99.
