Postal wins an award

by Danielle Riendeau on Jun 16, 2008 at 08:13 PM

Uwe Boll Art is in the eye of the beholder, it would seem. Proving this is the fact that Uwe Boll’s latest disaster, Postal (released on just 13 screens nationwide) has received two big awards at the Hoboken International Film Festival. Kotaku reports that Boll took home $500 and the director’s award for the film, while the flick itself was honored with the “best of festival” title. Of course, the film was much-maligned by critics and an audience famously walked out of a free screening earlier this month.

I wonder if he got to make a speech upon receiving the award? Or if Boll was as stunned as we all are at the accolade. I admittedly know very little about the Hoboken fest, but if it’s heavy in exploitation films, we may have an answer to this little mystery.
