by Jeremy Hill on Jan 24, 2010 at 09:40 PM

PopCap Games Last Saturday (January 16, 2010) PopCap Games reached out to its community in an effort to help the relief process in Haiti. All proceeds made from purchases on PopCap’s site went to helping the people in Haiti. This charitable event appears to have been a great success with PopCap announcing in its newsletter it had donated more than $85,000 to the cause.

PopCap is just one game company that has shown an effort to assist in rebuilding Haiti. Bungie is still offering to donate every dime it makes from selling its “Be a Hero” themed t-shirts and setting up special matches in Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST to show support. Bungie reports that it has raised more than $100,000 from purchases from its store and through the special “Be a Hero” matchmaking games that took place last Wednesday (January 20, 2010) and Thursday (January 21, 2010).

Both Bungie and PopCap encourage gamers to donate to the organization of their choice to continue to help the Haitian people.
