Pop Rock: Kellogg’s Guitar Hero promotion includes free hat, T-shirt, mini LCD games
Kelloggs recently launched a Guitar Hero promotion that either offers an in-box premium or a mail-in clothing offer.
Here are the goodies being offered:
- Kellogg’s Guitar Hero Mini Game - This is an in-box premium, which means you get to dig to the bottom of the box to find the prize. The prize is one of four mini LCD-based Guitar Hero games. From the site’s description, ,you “push buttons and ‘strum’ to play” so that you can keep your Star Power Meter full and avoid being booed off the monochromatic stage. Haven’t seen it yet but it promises a whammy bar. Batteries are not replaceable and the l’il systems are 2x4 in.
- Kellogg’s Guitar Hero Hat Offer - To get this hat you have to send in a form and 5 “Guitar Hero tokens” or $3.99 and 1 “Guitar Hero token.” It’s a one-size-fits-all hat, so expect a plastic strip with holes on the back for adjustments.
- Kellogg’s Guitar Hero Cereal T-Shirt Offer - To get this bit o’ garb you need 6 “Guitar Hero tokens” or $6.99 with 1 token and the Official Order Form. It’s 100% cotton, pre-shrunk (yeah, right), black short-sleeved shirt available in adult sizes: S (34-36), M (38-40), L (42-44) and XL (46-48). Limit 5 per household (like they keep track).
Oh yeah, now you can nibble on a box of Pop Tarts while jamming on a mini Guitar Hero game and wearing both your Guitar Hero logo hat and Guitar Hero T-shirt. Cross promotion at its finest.
As usual, you have to look for specially marked packages that give the l’il visual clue which offer your breakfast treat will allow you to cash in on. The promotion ends December 31, 2009, but that doesn’t mean those specially marked boxes will stay on shelves forever. That’s usually how long the company will offer the mail-ins.
The promotion site does let you know which products are involved in each promotion and offers a downloadable mail-in order form (for the hat and T-shirt).
Forge the hat. I’d prefer a download code that would let you play as Tony the Tiger rocking it hard core in the Guitar Hero game.
