The latest update to the Playstation Store is highlighted with the appearance of Pulse, a video showcase that describes the various happenings taking place in the Playstation world. Along with this video program, a permanent price drop was given to Jeopardy, the video game based on the popular television quiz show. Eager participants can now obtain the game for the low price of $10.
For gamers who would rather flex the twitch-based muscles in their brains, Lumines Supernova should ably fulfill that need. The downloadable title is now made available via this update for a mere $15. It also comes with a free holiday pack of 20 free skins for those in the festive mood.
Speaking of content additions, Buzz!, LittleBigPlanet, Hot Shots Golf, High Velocity Bowling, PAIN and Disgaea 3 were also beneficiaries of content expansions to their core products. In terms of breadth and variety, LittleBigPlanet’s offerings stood out as they allow players to assume the identities of the Metal Gear Solid clan, making costumes available for characters such as Solid Snake and Meryl Silverburgh. With $1.99 per costume and $5.99 for the entire kit, it should prove the perfect present for Metal Gear fans.
Disgaea 3 characters are also being sold in the store for $1.99 each, with $4.99 for the entire set. The High Velocity Bowling add-on packs, by comparison, are free, with the PAIN add-on only costing a mere dollar.
Guitar Hero World Tour fans will have the chance to obtain a free Reggae track pack with songs such as “Jimi” by Slightly Stoopid and “Sacrifice” by Expendables, and a Hard Rock track pack for $5.49 with songs such as “Because of You” by Nickelback ($1.49) and “Use Me” by Hinder ($1.49). Rock Band fans will have the chance to obtain a Foo Fighters track pack for $5.49, along with a Rockin’ the Holidays 2008 pack for $2.99 containing songs such as “Blue Christmas” by the Pretenders ($0.99) and “Christmas is the time to say I love you,” by Billy Squier ($0.99).
Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore 2 fans will have the chance, for $1.49 a piece, to sing along to songs such as “Too Little Too Late” and “In The Air Tonight.”
Shaun White Snowboarding Glamour Packs are available as well, in both regular and target editions, and both are retailing for $5.00.
Finally, along with the usual smattering of demos and themes, Playstation 1 classic Suikoden is now available for download for both portable and home use.
All in all, another successful download; here is hoping that everyone takes these items and has a happy holiday season.
