Moore believes that EA will leave Activision-Blizzard far behind on the back of a strong showing by its sports label EA Sports this year. “Consumers get a chance to vote at the cash registers, and what we’re seeing is that our games are as popular as ever. This is an area in which Activision-Blizzard really can’t compete with us,” a philosophical and audacious Moore told MCV in an interview.
Although he talked about the need of EA Sports going global and expanding its product portfolio beyond the mainstream market, he dismissed criticism that EA’s games weren’t innovative. Especially many games in popular sports franchises like FIFA and NFL feel like the same old game except for some cosmetic changes.
