Video Games Live, a concert series that features classic computer and videogame music played by a symphony orchestra, will be joined by OverClocked ReMix, a fan-based organization dedicated to the appreciation and re-arrangement of video game music, this Friday and Saturday (June 29 and 30, 2007) for performances in Washington, D.C.

According to the press release, OverClocked ReMix will be contributing to the beginning and ending segments of the shows, as well as offering prizes for the audience. This marks the first official collaboration between Video Games Live and the OCR community.

OverClocked ReMix began in 1999 as a website for hosting fan arrangements of videogame music and its community has swelled in recent years, with hundreds of posted remixes available for free download. Even if you can’t make it to the performance in D.C., the site is worth checking out for aural goodness in every conceivable style, from Doom lullabies to salsa renditions of Mario themes.
