Odin Sphere
After months of clamoring from fans, Square Enix Ltd., the European arm of Square Enix, recently announced that it would be publishing Odin Sphere across PAL territories early 2008. Offering a choice between the original 60 Hz display and an updated 50 Hz display, gamers across Europe will finally be able to experience what many believe to be one of the most beautifully animated games to ever be released. Additionally, in-game text will be offered in English, Spanish, French, German or Italian.

The release comes as a surprise to many gamers, as Atlus-developed Odin Sphere is the first title to be published by the London-based company that was not developed by Square Enix. President of Square Enix Ltd.

Odin Sphere is a 2D sidescrolling action RPG that was released exclusively for the Playstation 2 in May 2007 in North America and Japan. It has been regarded very highly for its beautiful character designs, fluid animation and a compelling soundtrack by Hitoshi Sakimoto. The players assume the role of five different characters, each with their own gameplay style, whose intertwined destinies slowly unfold as the game progresses. With varied combat styles, an intricate mixing system and interesting narrative, Odin Sphere will be a wonderful reason for European gamers to dust off the PS2 after the holidays.
