Valve seems to have a love-hate relationship with the PS3. On second thought it seems more like a hate relationship.
EA took the responsibility of developing The Orange Box for PS3 in place of Valve which was clearly inferior to the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game. Valve’s most recent endeavor, Left 4 Dead, is shaping up to be one of the must-play titles of this year with an emphasis on zombie slaying. We know the game is coming to Xbox 360 and PC but a PS3 port has been up in the air since the beginning. Now that dream has been shattered into shards of a broken dream courtesy of Valve’s own Chet Faliszek.
“Many people say to us that they have heard rumors of Left 4 Dead coming to PS3, however despite telling them this isn’t true they still don’t believe us, what more can we say than it is not” Faliszek told WonderWall Web.
I think we can file this into the “conversation over” category. If we want to kill some zombies in high definition online with friends, we have to decide whether to buy Left 4 Dead on Xbox 360 or PC on November 18, 2008.
A demo was released on PC and Xbox 360 for those who got a preorder. The rest of us who didn’t preorder can download will be able to download the demo today (November 11, 2008) for Xbox 360 and PC. The demo includes two levels from the first act of the game.
