This may be a very subjective topic, but I would have never guessed that the name No Doubt would be used in the same sentence with the words “guitar” and “legend,” or with “rock” for that matter. Activision has been really stingy with these downloads and finally after a long wait we get a slap on the face by Gwen Stefani singing “B-A-N-A-N-A.” Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying there’s something wrong with No Doubt. The band may have some good songs and by looking at their platinum and gold records we can assume they have a large fanbase, but to include them in a guitar based musical game that emphasizes on rock seems kind of a stretch.
I suppose Activision is very busy working on the next Guitar Hero incarnation, but why not start providing some solid rock downloads in the meantime. The ability of getting new songs every once in a while was one of the aspects that made the idea of Guitar Hero so cool and Activision is totally blowing that opportunity.
I hope some cool metal riffs are in the way, Activision, because you know the Gods of Metal are watching, and right now they’re shaking their heads at you.
