Nintendo confirms new DSi handheld game system, announces features

At a press conference earlier today (September 2, 2008) in Tokyo, Nintendo unveiled its new hand held console, the DSi. The newer version of the DS will no longer have the Game Boy Advance slot (how will I ever get to play Tetris again!?) and will feature a bevy of new upgrades.
The handheld will be a bit smaller, have a larger screen and the rumors you heard earlier, have been confirmed as the DSi will have a built in .3 (640x480) megapixel camera and audio enhancements.
The DSi will also have a SD memory card slot which will allow users to take pictures with the handheld device and then transfer them to their Nintendo Wii. The DSi will also come with a browser which will let users purchase games and with the new SD slot, store them on the console.
An online DSi shop will allow users to purchase DSiWare priced between 200 and 800 points. GamesIndustry.Biz is reporting that people who purchase the new console will receive 1000 points free, until March 2010.
The Nintendo DSi will be priced at $179 with two colors to choose from in black and white, and will be released in Japan November 1st. Unfortunately we have to wait stateside until next year.

Any details on how much larger the screen(s) will be?
I actually like the new built-in camera and SD slot features; now I can utilize the Photo channel on my Wii and even download SDiWare games. This is looking good!
