Nintendo and Toys R Us offer free download of uber rare Pokémon, Manaphy
Do you like Pokémon but haven’t beaten Pokémon Ranger? Nintendo and Toys R Us are teaming up to release the rare legendary Pokémon, Manaphy, as a free download to the eager masses. According to Nintendo Power, on September 29, 2007, from noon to 3 p.m. you will be able to download Manaphy to your copy of Pokemon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl via Nintendo DS download.
Previously, players hoping to catch Manaphy could get a Manaphy egg for completing a certain objective in Pokémon Ranger. Unlike most legendaries, Manaphy can breed, but it’s baby form, Phione, can never evolve - making Manaphy rare indeed.
Another tidbit from Nintendo Power’s article: Manaphy is the only Pokémon that knows Heart Swap, which causes it to switch stat modifications with an opponent.
Nintendo and Toys R Us are celebrating the release of the latest Pokémon movie, Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea. The movie features a Manaphy holding a red scarf, and sure enough, the Manaphy you receive will be holding a Red Scarf, hiding inside a Cherish Ball.
Nowadays it’s nigh impossible to “catch ‘em all” but this will put us one step closer.

on April 8, 2008 at 11:19 AM - LINKI bought both Brain Age games to play on my own. I absolutely love this thing! It’s small enough that it’s portable but the screen is large enough to see. I really have no complaints! The ONLY thing I wish is that I could play older Gameboy games on it, but you can’t have everything!
