Ninjatown strategies for success: Guaranteed to help with over 9,000 enemies!

NinjatownIf you’re playing Ninjatown, I’m sure you’re feeling a bit of pressure. After all, its on you to protect Ninjatown and save the secret ninja cookie recipe! With monsters constantly assaulting the areas you’re in, it can be quite a challenge to find a method that works for you.

Luckily, there are a few key tricks which work for every level. Hopefully these helpful suggestions will aid you in your campaign against Mr. Demon and his sneaky minions. Common sense combined with extensive ninja combat experience helped craft these five game tips - use them wisely.

  • Always investigate the map. The first thing you want to do, before even planting any houses, is to analyze the map layout. Initially, they will be very straightforward with only one or two entrances where monsters will emerge and one goal area. However, later levels will feature multiple entrances and goals. The key is to look for a point where paths intersect. That is where you’ll want to set up your first few ninja huts. That way, no matter which path the enemies emerge from, they’ll be caught by your ninjas. Don’t just rely on the map on the top screen for assistance, actually look around the area on the bottom screen to start scouting prime real estate.
  • Ninjatown
  • Wee Ninjas, Anti-Ninjas and Sniper Ninjas first. There are quite a few varieties of ninja, and they can be very useful and cute. When you first start out a level though, go for the Wee Ninjas and Anti-Ninja huts. If there are some flying enemies in the first two waves, you may want to add a Sniper Ninja hut as well. But you’ll mainly want to concentrate on building a strong base army of Wee and Anti-Ninjas, because they are so versatile. Business Ninjas, White Ninjas and Forest Ninjas are nice, but you don’t really have to have them.
  • Focus on a central area, then expand. When wave after wave of enemy starts approaching, your gut instinct is probably to try and match their numbers. This isn’t always wise. Instead, try to get a respectable army built up first. I’ve found having six huts (two Wee Ninja, two Anti-Ninja and two Sniper Ninja) which are then each leveled up to level 3 are enough to handle the first five waves of enemies. After you’ve secured that area, then start gradually expanding, adding in Business or Forest Ninjas as a supplement to your main force.
  • Ninjatown
  • “Get off my lawn” is worth saving up for. One of the most useful Ol’ Master Ninja powers is “Get off my lawn!” This ability lets you blow back enemies. If you get overwhelmed, this is often the best trick to use - you can push opponents away from your goal and, if you aim properly, right into legions of waiting ninjas. Its a bit frustrating to implement, since you have to blow into the microphone, but well worth the effort.
  • Shoot for Ninja Droppings! Ninja Droppings are a great way to deal with super opponents or stages where you have to defend a specific location on the map. Just plop down a dropping in the path, and the toxic fumes will gradually drain the opponents’ life bar. It is easily one of the best character token defenses, especially since it is available from a very early point in the game.

Yes, it’s sweet, but look beyond the cute visuals and you’ll discover a slickly produced, deeply enthralling strategy game, which combines tactical planning with edge-of-your-seat scrambles.
