Tecmo has just announced that Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword will be released on March 20, 2008. The new DS game, which is the latest entry in the Ninja Gaiden series, will feature gameplay which will center around the touch screen. Tecmo also announced that DS Download Stations, which are available in most major retailers, will feature a Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword demo.
In a potentially risky move by Tecmo, all of Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword can be played using only the stylus. The DS is held like a book, with a map on one screen and all the action occurring on the touch screen. By dragging, tapping, tracing and scribbling on the screen, Ryu Hayabusa will move around his environments and attack enemies.
Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword looks very promising. The DS needs a good ninja game, seeing as how the Tenchu game for the system floundered.
