by Christopher Buckner on Feb 11, 2008 at 12:23 PM

trinigy vision engineThe Vision Engine might not be as much a household name as Epic’s Unreal Engine, but come this year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC), Trinigy is hoping to change that view with its release of the latest version of the Vision Game Engine.

The grand unveiling of Vision 6.4 will be at this year’s GDC 2008 in San Francisco, February 20-22, 2008. This will be the first time that the public will be allowed to see the new engine whose predecessor has recently been nominated as finalist for Game Developer Magazine’s Front Line Award 2007.

Vision features a versatile LUA-based scripting solution that is integrated into Vision’s WYSIWYG (“what you see is what you get”) editing framework, vForge. In addition, a newly developed visibility system that is capable of handling all types of game scenes, increasing the engine’s performance and improving support for dynamic resource streaming as well as various optimizations for Vision’s PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 versions.

Along with its new office in Austin, TX, Trinigy is hoping the new engine will further increase its international market share.
