A new, free demo of Touchstone’s Turok is available on Xbox Live. It is a substantial download at 1.17 GB, and gives players a taste of what the single player mode of the new shooter/action game. Of course the most important thing is that it is free, so it may be worth a quick try.
Turok stars Joseph Turok, who’s a member of a secret squad called Whiskey Company and is assigned to capture his criminal mentor, Roland Kane. As is, that should have been a fairly interesting plot devise. However Turok is set in the future, where nothing is too ludicrous. Also Kane is smart enough to retreat with his Mendel-Gruman army to a planet populated by dinosaurs and big bugs. So essentially Joseph Turok’s just a glorified exterminator.
The full version of Turok will be available on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 5, 2008. All three versions are rated Mature due to the excessive violence and killer dinosaurs. When it comes out, expect to pay $59.99 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions and $49.99 for the PC one. Also, it is worth noting that preordering the PS3 or Xbox 360 versions at GameStop/EB Games will get you a free t-shirt.
