Some people who have played the game posted their satisfaction on the Something Awful forums but not everyone there feels that way.
Mohammed Shafiq, chief executive of The Ramadhan Foundation believes the game is making light of violent acts against Muslims. In fact, Shafiq points to videogames as being one of the reasons for the rise of violent crimes in Britain. “There is an increase in violence in this country and some of it comes from video games. When kids spend six hours a day on violent games they are more likely to go outside and commit violence,” Shafiq said to the Telegraph.
The game’s creator, Eric Vaughn (who also goes by Sigvatr), admits that the game’s purpose is to kill Muslims despite the foreign policy critique some players have given the game. According to the Telegraph, Vaughn doesn’t think the game portrays violence against Muslims any more than television reports. When asked what he thought about what various persons were saying about the game he replied, “Anyone is free to believe whatever they won’t (sic) though, because I don’t even know how to interpret it myself anymore. The bottom line is that I enjoyed making it and it’s fun to play.”
