Metroid Prime Trilogy to put all other Wii remakes to shame August 2009

by Danielle Riendeau on May 23, 2009 at 11:46 AM

Metroid Prime Trilogy
Get ready for the best news to come from Nintendo in quite a while: the highly anticipated Metroid Prime Wii-make will be combined with sequels Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and released for $50 this August. The first and second titles (which were originally released on the Gamecube) will have full motion control support, while the third game (a Wii native) will reportedly be untouched, and the very cool “achievements” one could earn in Corruption will be available across the three games.

For three truly excellent, Wii-fied Metroid games, $50 is a bargain. The first Prime was one of the absolute best (if not the best) titles of 2002, and it still holds up today as a modern classic first person platformer/shooter. Echoes is a tougher game, though no less worthy than the first entry, and Corruption earned high marks across the board upon it’s release in 2006. I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on this little package when it comes out this August 24th.
