Metroid Prime, Pikmin get Wii-made

Just after I reported on all the remakes coming to the Wii, Nintendo announced a slew of excellent Gamecube games getting a Wii makeover. 1up reported that adventure-FPS classics Metroid Prime 1 and 2, along with garden-strategy hybrids Pikmin 1 and 2 will receive the upgraded treatment. Also on the list of Wii-makes are Mario Tennis, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and Chibi-Robo. The games will reportedly feature Wii-mote controls for maximum Wii enjoyment. It all begins this December.
Yes! I don’t even care anymore that half of the decent games on Wii are remakes, updates or ports of old games. Quality is quality, and I can’t wait to dive back in to Metroid Prime and Pikmin all over again.

Agreed, Danielle. After playing Corruption on the Wii, I tried to go back to Metroid Prime 2 and just couldn’t do it because the controls felt so clunky and outdated. Now, I’ll finally get to work through the games. I’m really looking forward to them. What would be REALLY cool is if the Wii version recognize your Game Cube save games, so you can pick up where you left off, if desired.
