Empire Interactive announced yesterday (February 11, 2009) that is has signed an exclusive deal to publish console, handheld and PC (including Mac) games based on the “Mensa license.” The deal has been drafted with both the American Mensa and British Mensa organizations.

Since the deal is still fresh, no specific titles have been announced but you can bet the games will be packed with puzzles and prove decent practice for the actual Mensa test.

Mensa is an organization of members who score in the top two percent of a supervised standardized test (that’s one in fifty people, as the Mensa site points out). The test costs $40 unless you can provide evidence of a previous test score. You can also take an at-home practice test for $18.

That’s right, the organization recognized around the globe and having smarties as members is putting its name on a video game. Take that all you game-hatin’ ney sayers.
