Man marries Love Plus DS game
Maybe those Japanese dating simulation games are dangerous after all. Konami’s Love Plus DS dating sim has seen unprecedented popularity and creepy devotion since it launched, and it’s only getting worse. An unidentified man has married his copy of the game.
On November 22, 2009, a man went to Guam. Once he arrived, he married Nene Anegasaki, one of the three possible virtual girlfriend characters in Love Plus. Since then, the man has announced a wedding reception in Japan, no word yet on when that will take place, and NicoNico Douga showed the video of the wedding ceremony.
I know, I’m thinking “publicity stunt” too. But part of me is shuddering and thinking this whole affair is real. After all, some people bought multiple copies of Love Plus to get all the preorder items, and others take their DS and Love Plus girlfriends on real dates.
Love Plus is a dating simulation released by Konami on September 3, 2009. It’s rated Cero C, for ages 15 and older. It is unique as it is a real-time dating simulation, meaning that each day something different can happen. There are only three chaseable girls, Nene, Rinko Kobayakawa and Manaka Takane. If you play every day, the girl you decide to go after will eventually become your girlfriend.

Wow. There are no words. If he plays another one of these games, is it adultery?
