In the slew of iPhone games being announced this week, Majic Jungle has tossed in Chopper. Previously released as a downloadable Mac app, the game is available for $7.99 through the Apple App Store.

Chopper is a side-scrolling shooter where you pilot a helicopter through 60 levels of tanks and other ground-to-air attacks while flying over various terrains. You save civilians and return to base (Choplifter anyone?) The company has also extended a limited-time free demo to try before you buy (.ZIP, 3.4 MB), but you need Mac OS X 10.5 or better to play.

The Shareware version of Chopper 1.2.1 for Mac ($15 registration) features more levels, surround sound and other niceties.
