Look who’s still making games for the PS2

While many gamers may have jumped ship to the comfort of the cell microprocessors that power the Playstation 3, the accrual of Playstation 2 titles have yet to come to a complete halt. The pickings may be slim but many developers, such as Atlus, continue to show faith in this 8-year-old console by releasing highly anticipated titles exclusively for the Playsation 2. Other developers, like Electronic Arts, show their support by continuing to develop Playstation 2 versions of popular multi-platform games.

The following is a list of popular developers and the more notable games that are planned for release in time to make it onto this year’s holiday wish list.

Activision:
Guitar Hero World Tour (music) - October 26, 2008
James Bond 007: Quantum of Solace (action) - November 4, 2008

Atari:
Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World (fighting) - November 4, 2008

Atlus:
Eternal Poison (role-playing) - November 11, 2008
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 (role-playing) - December 9, 2008

Electronic Arts:
Need for Speed Undercover (racing) - November 11, 2008
Rock Band 2 (music)  - November 18, 2008
NCAA Basketball 2009 (sports) - December 2, 2008
Rock Band Track Pack Vol. 2 (music) - December 30, 2008

EIDOS Interactive:
Tomb Raider Underworld (action) - December 8, 2008

KOEI:
Mana Khemia (role-playing) - October 28, 2008
Dynasty Warriors 6 (action) - November 18, 2008

Sega of America:
Sonic Unleashed (action) - November 18, 2008
