Alright, maybe that was a bit dramatic but it’s safe to say the standard guitars that come with the games aren’t enough to satisfy everyone’s inner rock star. Logitech has announced the upcoming release of a new wireless guitar designed for the Playstation 3 version of Guitar Hero 3 and World Tour that is also compatible with the PS2 version of World Tour. The Wireless Guitar Controller Premier Edition goes on sale December 2008 for $250.
The design of this controller sounds almost like a real guitar. The neck is made of wood, the fingerboard is made of rosewood, and we even get metal frets and tuning pegs.
The guts of the guitar contains a 2.4GHZ transmitter that gives us a range of about 30 feet of rocking distance on two AA batteries. Logitech says those two batteries will provide hundreds of hours of playtime.
A gig bag is thrown into the deal to shield this guitar from its low brow cousins. It’s all very pricey considering World Tour costs $189 on PS3 for the complete bundle. If you want to be the cool person with the most expensive fake instrument, this guitar is meant for you.
