Little Nemo: The Dream Master cross stitch

by Jenni Lada on Feb 17, 2008 at 11:30 PM

Everybody loves candy

Growing up, owning a NES was a big deal, and every game became part of a treasured memory. This is, in part, what drew me to Little Nemo: The Dream Master for my second video game cross stitch. For my second cross stitch I wanted to do a slightly larger cross stitch, but at the same time go back to a classic system. So I headed over to The Shyguy Kingdom and picked out some sprites from the game to create a pattern. I always loved how Nemo could become different animals or fuse with them by tossing candy at them, so I wanted to incorporate that into the cross stitch.

This Little Nemo: The Dream Master piece, which I’ve been referring to as “I Want Candy,” took me about two and a half to three hours to complete. Like before, I didn’t really keep track of time. It has a simplified color scheme, what with the original source being a NES title. The only color embroidery flosses used are black, white, peach, purple, pink, yellow and green. I haven’t yet determined what exactly I intend to do with this cross stitch, I’ll likely mount it or see if one of my friends would like it.

My first project, in case you missed it, was angel Kirby from Kirby Squeak Squad on the DS. A friend of mine has requested a Legend of Zelda Link cross stitch, so my next project might be a Link from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past / Four Swords, as I really enjoyed creating a more complicated sprite before. I might also go back and work on a Burgertime piece as well. If you are interested in learning how to create your own video game cross stitches, then this previous Gamertell article could help you get started.
