Microsoft is looking to squeeze a little more cash out of gamers’ pockets this June with reduced price and collector’s editions of Gears of War.

The Xbox 360 version of Gears of War will cost $39.99, while the PC re-release will run $29.99. These two editions are expected to hit store shelves June 4, 2008, although Xbox 360 owners interested in seeing what all the Gears hype is about might want to wait a little longer. On June, 24, 2008, the two-disc Collector’s Edition will be released for $39.99 as well.

The two-disc Collector’s Edition will include Multiplayer Maps Packs 1 and 2, both of which have already been released as downloadable content (DLC) through Xbox Live. It will also include gamer pictures, Gears of War pictures, themes and a message from Cliffy B. There will also be few features promoting Gears of War 2, include gamer pictures, themes and trailers.

Gears of War 2 is due to be released for the Xbox 360, November, 03, 2008.
