Are you excited about Star Trek Online? Well Cryptic studios has some news that should set your trekkie(er) heart aflutter: Leonard Nimoy (Spock, and if you didn’t know that, you need to give up your nerd card) will host a press event to announce/discuss the new game this Sunday, August 10, 2008, at the Gene Roddenbury Theater, Las Vegas Hilton. The event will be covered via webcast for everyone who won’t conveniently be in Vegas this weekend.

Cryptic Studios is pleased to announce that legendary actor Leonard Nimoy will join Cryptic’s Jack Emmert this Sunday for the first-ever reveal of the recently announced Star Trek Online!  The event will take place at the Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas on Sunday, August 10th at 1:30pm.

Where: Gene Roddenberry Theater, Las Vegas Hilton or LIVE on Star Trek Online

Who doesn’t love a little Nimoy in their life? Either way, this is quite a cool little surprise for fans, as Nimoy’s presence will surely add an air of Trek authenticity to the proceedings. Expect to hear much more about the just-announced title at the event. All we know so far is that it’s being developed for both the PC and consoles, and will be an MMO set in the Star Trek universe.
