It was about a year ago when we first discussed the Lego MMORPG game, Lego Universe.  Back then, it was just a simple announcement but now the game is moving along very well. 

I think all of us who grew up with Legos crave a Second Life type of game with the famed bricks.  The user can build in real time and build all sorts of creations using themes including Space, Pirates, Ninjas, Underwater and I can imagine just about anything else.

The Lego Universe designers are now in the world design stage and Netdevil has recently sponsored two Lego Universe Project events, also known as LUPs.  At the first LUP, the company got together all kinds of testers to discover that they could create all sorts of monster models, place, machinery, and vehicles.  At the second LUP, the company gave a three-hour class about building in the Lego virtual universe, and they went to town, Lego town.  It looks like new users can get the hang of it quite quickly. 

I cannot wait until Lego Universe comes out.  I believe this was originally scheduled for Q4 2008 but I hope that there is not a delay.  Until then, enjoy this little video I found explaining the highlights of Lego Universe:
