Last X game, X³: Terran Conflict, now available for preorder on Steam

A release date has finally been announced for Egosoft’s X³: Terran Conflict - October 17, 2008. Originally, the game was scheduled for a September release, but September has come and gone. Now, a definitive worldwide digital release date has been set. X³: Terran Conflict will only be available outside of Europe through Steam, so if you’re interested in a strategic space simulation, you’ll have to get it there.
X³: Terran Conflict is the final game in the X series of games. Previous entries include X: Beyond the Frontier, X²: The Threat and X³: Reunion. X³: Terran Conflict is part extra game, and part stand-alone X³: Reunion expansion. So it will have some of the features of X³: Reunion, but will also expand the universe you can explore, include more missions, add more jobs, bring the Earth Terran faction into the game, introduce over 100 new ships and add more ship improvements.
Despite this announcement, Steam is currently (12:36pm CST, Oct 10, 2008) still showing X³: Terran Conflict as an October 2008 release. So hopefully that information will be updated soon. The game is going to cost $39.99 through Steam, but since that’s the only place you can get it, its likely worth the price. Its only for Windows PCs with XP or Vista.
