It may be time to take another look at Last Chaos. Aeria Games has just announced a massive update to its free-to-play, massive multiplayer online game that offers new character, pet, item and adventuring options. There are so many new and exciting things being added into the game that players who may have left due to boredom or apathy might find themselves lured back in. (After all, no matter how amazing an MMO is, once you’ve reached a certain level or point, it doesn’t have the same appeal.)

There are quite a few striking additions with the potential to alter how you play the game. The first is that Phoenix characters will now be available in the game, and will have special abilities, be stronger and also have unique equipment to help differentiate them from normal characters. Strayana has a new, high level dungeon for experienced players, filled with new items. A new crafting system has also been implemented so that people have a different, more influencial means of creating equipment for characters. In fact, some of the newly added equipment are attainable through crafting. New monsters and equipment, of course, have also been added into the game.

There are also going to be some visable changes. The biggest, and most requested, change is that helmets will now be shown on characters. Now if your avatar has a helmet or hat on, you and every other player will know it. There is also going to be a new pet color pattern that you can put on dragons and horses.

I love it when companies launch a huge update for an established game. Its almost like you’re getting a brand new expansion pack or, if the changes are drastic enough, a brand new game. The Last Chaos update feels like an expansion pack to me.
