Kotobukya redesigns website, makes it easier to oogle busts

gamertell kotobukiya logoBorn as the entrepreneurial venture of Jusaburo Shimizu in 1947, Kotobukiya’s began as a single toy store for dolls. Now, Kotobukiya has developed itself to be one of the heavy-hitters when it comes to popular anime/video game/movie figures, busts, statues and model kits that include some big name licenses (Star Wars, Halo, Final Fantasy, Hulk, Dead or Alive and Indiana Jones to name just the tip of the iceberg). Always thriving for quality without exception, Kotobukiya is sharing the love with its English-speaking market by creating a website interface that is easier to navigate and feels very similar to a home-grown weblog.

Unhindered by any fancy Flash or JavaScripts, patrons are able to easily peruse the Kotobukiya line-up of now and then through prominently marked categories which even include monthly release listings.

Unfortunately, patrons are unable to buy directly from the site but are encouraged to use the ever-so-handy Comic Shop Locator Service (CSLS) tool to find the nearest retailer who would be able to satiate one’s hunger for the newest Kotobukiya PVC figure. In addition to promoting the CSLS, Kotobukiya entices the masses to participate in their first international fan club: Koto-Club. Members are promised riches such as exclusive news, photographs, and sneak peaks and it’s all in 100% fine-combed English!

There’s even a suggestion box encouraging customer input, meaning that with enough feedback Kotobukiya might just consider modeling something that you’d never have thought possible in a million years. What do you have to lose except the steady lack of money from your paycheck? Join the Koto-Club and start charting out the release dates of your figures on a dedicated desk calendar at work.
