Outspark’s free-to-play, massive multiplayer online snowboarding gameProject Powder is now in open beta. Take heart, if you were denied entry to the closed beta, for your time has now come. Of course not all the functions are up and running (the ranking feature doesn’t work yet), but they will be once the commercial period begins.
If you Project Powder is for you and decide to join up, there is quite a bit to do. There are 33 different snowboarding courses, and 10 will only be available during this open beta period. There are also three game modes, the ability to engage in multiplayer challenges with seven others, tricks you can learn and unleash while on the slopes and items to customize your character.
Project Powder is also part of the 2008 Outspark Games. From August 8-21, 2008, a Race for the Gold event is being held in the game. Players can compete to achieve the highest ranking on each of the 33 courses, and the winners will receive in-game goodies.
