Important Importables
Jenni Lada brings us information about all of the groovy new gaming imports from around the world.

We decided to play since we heard that this game is known to destroy friendships. So far I can see why! We start out fine, she tells me the ropes of the game and I pick my character, a yellow witch, which I later regretted since she is weak without a magic spell (which you don’t start out with!). I was actually leading money wise for while until Jenni got her first town, then her second town, third, and eventually FIFTH town! This was only like an hour into the game.
I was basically having horrible luck, she got to the kingdom right away, and it took my so long that the king eventually hauled me over there impatiently. See you have to land EXACTLY on certain spaces, such as shops and the castle space. I was having no luck with my spins. Jenni was about level 4 or 5 by the time I was finally able to buy a stupid weapon from the shop; I was also able to buy an awesome magic spell but lost it when I was killed in a battle. I mean what kind of crap is that, how exactly do you lose a magic spell? I think I yelled out “I hate this game!” at least five times.
As if I wasn’t doing bad enough, I landed on the same space Jenni was on and we were forced to fight, she quickly killed me because she was three levels higher and choose to write graffiti on my face, which I had most of the game. I also lost my hair at some point from a curse.
I got back at her though. I managed to turn into a darkling for 13 turns (I had to give up all my items and money though, but at the time it wasn’t much anyway) and I gained immense power! I killed Jenny and put a monster on all her towns, which means she lost them all and had to get them all back (which she practically did I might add). I also changed her name to Poopy which made me laugh hysterically every time I saw it. I have yet to grow up you see.
So after getting killed by two monsters while trying to save the towns, I FINALLY land on town space (again you have to land exactly). Unfortunately for me, I previously landed on a cursed space which made me “afraid” and I was too scared to fight the monster. I think I threw the controller at Jenni at this point. It wasn’t until two hours later that I finally got my own town. We decided to call it quits after that since it was getting late and frankly I couldn’t take much more. Oh and I should mention that about 10 minutes before that I finally got rid of my graffiti.
So at the begging of the game I was doing great: had lots of money, a good spell, and looked cool. Then Jenni had to go and do better. She got almost every town, put graffiti on my face, and made me lose my spell! Ok, she actually didn’t make me lose my spell, that was my own fault, but it’s more fun to blame it on her. I included a chart that I made that shows how I went from cool to tool very quickly.
Despite all my bad luck and downright bad playing, I must say I had a lot of fun. The problem with Jenni and me is that we are too nice, we could have really sabotaged each other more. For example, when I was a darkling, I could have put all sorts of curses on her, and stolen all her stuff. She equally could have stolen all my stuff when she killed me or taken all the towns I was trying to get…oh wait she did do that last part. Either way we were good sports. If one played this game with someone more competitive, I could see it getting very frustrating and downright nerve racking.
We are still good friends….for now…and I still have the saved game at my house which I could easily play at any time and completely ruin all her progress, which means in the end, I am the true winner!
